As a young child, I began my first regimen of musical training on the piano. A family full of musicians enlivened a developed consciousness of rhythm, melody, and harmony. After seven years of formal piano lessons as a child, I pursued further musical avenues; picking up the guitar, bass, and drums by age 16. I received a Music Performance degree from the Metropolitan State University of Denver where I majored in classical guitar performance. There I discovered a transcendent relationship with the classical guitar and continued my formal study of classical piano. During my tenure as an undergrad, I also studied piano accompaniment, composition, improvisation, music theory, counterpoint, Jazz, African drumming, woodwind techniques and music history. Occasionally, I will dabble with cello, saxophone and trombone. I am currently teaching myself to resonate with the upright bass. I perform regularly within the Colorado music scene; I compose, arrange, write jingles, teach, and collaborate with other notable musicians.
I began my musical adventures three and a half decades ago touring the country as a young child with my parents band - The Cat's Night Out. From a young age, musical growth proved to be an indispensable accompaniment to my existence. A self-professed 'life-long learner,' I continue to study a variety of musical styles and various instruments. My greatest gratification comes from sharing this knowledge and experience with others!
In addition to offering private, in-person lessons at my home studio in Broomfield, Colorado, I also offer online music lessons so that you may learn from the comfort and safety of your own home.
